Overview

In the Gaps of Time reflects on a period of emotional suspension experienced between 2023 and 2025 while living in a small rented room in New York.

During this time, personal circumstances - the end of a relationship, unemployment, distance from friends and an ongoing search for belonging - created a sense that time itself had stalled. The room became both container and metaphor, holding layers of emotion that accumulated quietly, like dust gathering in corners.

Within the installation, these experiences are translated into a spatial meditation on suspended time. Moments appear as fragments - shards of feeling and memory drifting without clear sequence or resolution. The environment evokes the sensation of being caught within an inward collapse, where time folds into itself.

Gradually, subtle changes emerge. As in the artist’s lived experience, the outside world begins to reassert itself. Birds return, light shifts and movement quietly resumes.

The work invites visitors to move slowly through this reflective landscape, encountering traces of stillness and transition. Rather than depicting a single narrative moment, In the Gaps of Time considers how periods of emotional suspension shape memory and perception.
