Before You Submit
The Commons publishes working thought.
It is a descriptive surface for field notes, propositions, and contextual fragments emerging from artistic, cultural, and technological practice. It is not a programme, a community space, or a recruitment channel.
Submissions are reviewed editorially. We may lightly edit for clarity or structure. Not all submissions are published.
What We Publish
- Field notes from practice (process logs, reflections, experiments)
- Short propositions or theses that can be examined or argued with
- Context packets (annotated references, briefings, reading lists)
- Artefacts accompanied by contextual framing
- Listening notes — observations that hold a temperature without promotion
Clarity matters more than polish. Specificity matters more than scale.
What We Do Not Publish
- Calls, invitations, or recruitment language
- Promotional copy or sales material
- Portfolio submissions without a clear thread
- Unlicensed or third-party material without permission
- Ongoing projects seeking hosting or community management
The Commons is not a platform for campaigns, funding drives, or announcements.
Practical Notes
- Suggested length: 500–1,500 words (longer pieces may be excerpted)
- Links are preferred over large file uploads
- You must hold the rights to what you submit
- Publication is at editorial discretion
